An Organizational Representative Payee is an individual or organization that provides payee services for Social Security beneficiaries. A person can request a payee if they have trouble managing their finances. A person may also be mandated by Social Security, a court order or a physician’s order to have a payee if they are unable to manage their own funds. Organizational representative payee services are provided to ensure basic needs are met for beneficiaries to prevent homelessness, protect against fiduciary abuse and exploitation, save money, and teach financial responsibility. Stilwell Payee Services can also help you manage your paychecks, inheritance, pension, 401K, railroad benefits, special needs trust and VA benefits.
Stilwell Payee Services will pay your bills as such:
Living expenses such as food, water and shelter (first priority)
Medical expenses not covered by insurance (second priority)
Activity and miscellaneous spending (as funds are available)
Representative Payee fees are set by the Social Security Administration. As of 2023, the current monthly payee fee is $52 or 10% of monthly income, whichever is less. For persons with a co-occuring substance abuse disorder that is recognized by Social Security, the fee is $95 or 10% of monthly income, whichever is less.
Stilwell Payee Services takes pride in providing competent, respectful and person-centered service. With Stilwell Payee Services, you are treated as a person, not a disability.
